jenna, thanks, some great choices there and several i have never seen. i'm putting together a list of movies i should see.
"bill cosby: himself"; it's a definite must see, but left it off 'cause it's not a movie. if i include that, then i have to also include "eddie izzard; dressed to kill" . . . it's hysterical!!!
and speaking of phenomenal flicks, i might have to add "phenomena" to my list. i wouldn't say it was great, but it had a good message.
I'll replace Bill Cosby with Forrest...Forrest Gump.
ooohhh, another good choice. i can see that my final list isn't going to be a short as i had hoped.
during my recent incarceration i started a list of movies that i loved and needed to either see again or purchase or that i'd never seen but should. i'm up to 120 movies.
some of my favourites (in no particular order):
1) Shaun of the Dead
2) The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
3) Sin City
4) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
5) Trainspotting
6) Cool Hand Luke
7) Mystic River
8) Dazed and Confused
9) Legends of the Fall
10) Pulp Fiction
11) The Breakfast Club
12) The Usual Suspects
13) Snatch
14) Fight Club
15) The Way of the Gun
16) Boondock Saints
17) 25th Hour
18) Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
19) Once Upon a Time in Mexico
20) Mary Poppins
david, thanks . . . my list is really growing. btw, if you liked "the good, the bad and the ugly" you would probably like "outlaw josie whales" too. have you seen it?
i don't think so. i've seen some eastwood movies, though, of which i do not know the names. i do like 'fistful of dollars' and 'for a few dollars more'.
what's the one where he shoots the rope as a man is being hanged?
"outlaw josie whales" was one of his later (1976) western flicks. the basic plot is that it takes place during the civil war and the "redlegs" kill his family for no reason - which of course pisses him off, so he sets out to get even.
i'll also skip the ones others have listed.
1] braveheart
2] gladiator
3] rob roy
4] the star wars trilogies
5] memento (i may have just seen
that on fro's list, but my short-
term memory's not so great)
6] super troopers
7] McClintock
Scoupe, wasn't that rope-shooting scene in "the good, the bad & the ugly?"
Ooh, i just got a reat idea for another top-five list...
ah yes, joe dirt, how could i have left that out - lol. of course we both know it is you who sneaks out of bed in the middle of the night to watch it :-)
